Hair Design by Maja

Swiss born, Maja Whitesell has worked her entire life in the beauty industry. She most recently owned and operated Allure Hair Studio in Kailua, HI, previously located in Manoa.

Maja attended the College of Modern Art and Fashion in Zurich, as well as the Vidal Sassoon school in London. She did her apprentice work at the prestigious Reolon Salon in Zurich, and after finishing, earned her Masters in Beauty Business and Education from the Robert Emi Beauty School. After arriving in the Islands in 1995 to learn windsurfing, she fell in love with the people and natural beauty of Hawaii. In 1997, she closed her successful salon in Switzerland and moved to Hawaii permanently.

Maja’s training and experience enable her to excel at often challenging hair types such as curly or wavy hair, blonde hair, fine hair, and extremely long hair. She is also a specialist in color correction, highlights, and razor cuts for men and women.
